A big white fluffy biscuit visited me at night.
It had a large fluffy white body that looked like a semi flat ball inflated with air. Its body was about two and a half inches across and an inch high with eight little legs peeking out the sides and two beady black eyes. It stared at me calmly. "How do you do?" it seemed to say.
Was it a weird looking spider? Maybe. Was it venomous? I doubted it. I'd know about it if it were venomous. I had seen one like it at the backdoor a few days earlier. I had opened the door and batted it outside with a broom. Away it flew into the air around eight feet away, off to its new life in the wilderness.
I think it was some sort of spider, almost as large as a tarantula. I've never seen them before that one at the backdoor and the one sitting beside my bed at night. Why had I not seen or heard of these before? What was it? I've searched the internet high and low and found nothing like it.
I told the spider it was scaring me, but it continued to stare at me. Then I got up and sprayed it with bug spray. Goodness it ran away fast, but not far. It ran under a shelf. I haven't seen it again. I looked for its body but never found anything. I had thought of trying to trap it and take it outside, but I just knew it would fly into a panic and jump on me and run all over me. Then hide somewhere. Would it sneak out after I fell asleep and wander around on my bed? Probably.
I suppose the big white biscuit scare is over. I hope. They probably come out in the spring seeking love from other big white biscuits.
